finally understanding ‘em’

The whole font size has been confusing me since I first came across it a couple of weeks ago. The Castro book that is the set text is good, but with some things I’ve just not ‘gotten’ it.

Anyway, I went and got ‘CSS: The Missing Manual’ the other day, just for a different perspective on Castro, and these two books complement each other perfectly! Things I’m not really getting in Castro are explained slightly differently in the MM, and vice versa.

I really didn’t get how the whole em thing worked, but one sentence in the MM had the lightbulb come on. Also, the way CSS is laid out in the style sheet - I wasn’t exactly sure WHY things were set out in a certain way… again, ding!

I’m staying in tonight and am going to fiddle around with CSS for a bit. How dorky
